WAVa (We Are Virginia): pronounced wave. Our 501c3 team comes from all across the country with a diverse background of talent. Higher Education, Marketing, Sales, Writer-Producer, the Medical Field, Music and High Fashion.
Our Hope: To give strength and much needed resources to each community effort we engage in.
CHERYL JOHNSON-STOKES

Cheryl is currently the President of WAVa and Executive Director of Board of Directors for Potential Synergy (Virtual Realty & Augmented Reality Developers).
She held several Sales/Marketing positions at Xerox from entry sales to Management for 32 years. She was Miss Wyoming 1974. Appointed lead choreographer during her tour with the Miss America USO Troupe in 1975. Her amazing experience traveling through five different countries shaped her future!
PEGGY SHAMLEY-CHRISTIAN

Peggy, infuses WAVa’s fundraising efforts with her vast experiences and skill sets, developed during her 30 year tenure as an educator and Student Aid Officer.
She continuously raised funds to support underprivileged students obtain fares
for trips, scholarships, and to help defray costs for their college expenses.
MAHAMA GRAYSON-GONZALES

Mahama has over a decade of Real Estate sales success in Hampton Roads. She is a member of the highly regarded Hampton Roads, "Circle of Excellence". Currently, she holds the position of Luxury Collection Specialist in South Eastern Virginia.

In addition to providing her clients with their forever home, Mahama is very involved in giving back to her community. She volunteers her time to such projects as the Food Bank, the Chesapeake Public School system and her church.
DR. BERNADINE MARTIN-WHITE
FOUNDATION DIRECTOR

A graduate from the esteemed Howard University College of Dentistry, Dr. Martin-White completed her dental residency at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, DC.
Dr. Martin-White was the owner of SyracuseSmiles Cosmetic & Family Dental Practice and practiced dentistry for 30 years in Syracuse, NY before retiring and moving to Chesapeake with her husband. She shares a love of giving back to the community via volunteerism.
